When the kitchen and bar at Locals.hdy needed photography, the studio that had designed its identity returned to shoot it, so the pictures would speak the same language as the brand. Verywhere's production in February 2026 ran across the menu's main registers of this southern Thai dining and coffee spot in Hat Yai, from southern curries to brunch plates, drinks and desserts, photographed as one coherent series rather than a set of isolated packshots.
The direction splits the menu into three visual registers held together by the same sparse styling. Southern Thai dishes, the heart of the concept, sit on a seamless white ground so the turmeric yellows, the enamel pot and the banana leaf read as colour and form without distraction. Brunch plates move onto the restaurant's own oak tables in dappled, directional light, placing the food inside the room guests will actually sit in. Drinks and desserts are lit hard from one side on a pale stone surface, so ice and foam throw long shadows and, on the takeaway cups, the Locals wordmark reads clearly against the drink. Keeping props to a minimum and letting each dish supply its own colour means a curry, a French toast and an iced matcha can sit together on the same page without competing.
Studio white for the southern Thai plates, the restaurant's oak for brunch and a pale stone top for drinks were shot with the same restraint, few props and a handful of repeated camera heights, so a curry on white and a French toast on oak read as one series. The brunch table was dressed with the brand's wooden boards so the identity arrives through props rather than graphics, and in the drinks groups the takeaway cups were angled so the wordmark reads without dominating the drink.
